More than 100 Representative Natural History Museums Discussing "High-quality Development" in Zigong

From March 27 to 29, 2024, sponsored by the Sichuan Museums Association and Chongqing Museums Association and co-organized by the Administrator Center of Zigong UNESCO Global Geopark and Chongqing Natural History Museum, the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Special Committee of Nature Museums of Sichuan Museums Association & Academic Exchange Activity on "High-quality Development of Nature Museums in Sichuan and Chongqing" was held in Zigong, Sichuan. The meeting covers the annual meeting of the special committee, high-end forums, academic exchanges, venue inspection, and other agendas.

Chongqing Natural History Museum, Mt. Emei Museum, and other museums participating in the meeting are representative museums of natural history in Sichuan and Chongqing. These museums not only showcase human history, but also incorporate natural elements to provide tourists with a comprehensive educational and leisure experience that helps raise the public's awareness and conservation consciousness of natural and cultural heritage.

The preparatory meeting and annual meeting of the special committee held on March 27 reviewed and approved the list of committee members for the second session. Zeng Xiaoyun, Curator of Zigong Dinosaur Museum, was elected as the chairman of the new committee. Seven people including Pan Dongjing, Deputy Curator of the Museum of the Chengdu University of Technology, were elected as the vice chairmen. Zhang Zhou, Deputy Curator of Zigong Dinosaur Museum, was elected as the secretary-general.
